The nice comfort and road features that the new Saab 9-5 Sedan has received so much praise for, not least in the media, has been carried over to 9-4X using many of the same chassis and control systems, even though the basic design is dimensioned for rough ground. All models get Saab's advanced and eventually highly recognized four-wheel drive system, Saab XWD, and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.

In size, new 9-4X falls between 9-3X and recently launched 9-5 Sedan. It designally follows the language introduced with the new 9-5 Sedan, based on Saab's strong traditions in Scandinavian design, and their history as aircraft designers. The interior also shows the relationship with Saab 9-5, with similar instrumentation and seats of the same high quality. Material selection and colors show which quality car this is. Load capacity becomes abundant.
